Are you planning a baby shower? I bet about right now you are realizing there is a bit more that goes into baby shower planning then you thought. Well here is a guide that will hopefully help you have some fun with it and not feel so overwhelmed. And remember, the most important thing is that you have some fun, the mom is happy and you have a great get together! With a little work and planning details will fall into placed and your baby shower will be great!

Here is a simple Check List 
You can look down to help you keep track of what needs to be done and what has been done.

1. Guest List: 
  • Get a list of the "mom to be's" friends, family and co workers. 
  • Collect addresses, phone number or Facebook pages.
  • You can send paper invites or make a Facebook or Website Party Group to communicate with your guests. 
2. Invitations:

Things are different nowadays then they used to be. You have more choices of how to invite people to your baby shower.

Paper invites, online groups such as Facebook or party planning websites.  Facebook events are a nice way to organize your party and invite people as almost everyone is on Facebook and even is some family members won't be, you can generally get the information needed such as addresses or phone number from somebody within the event.

3. Location:

Think about where the best place would be to have a baby shower. Some things to consider will be:

  • How many guests are coming? Will they all fit in a house, restaurant, yard?
  • Will the weather be nice or too cold for outdoors?
  • How much will it cost to rent a hall or restaurant?
  • Where is a central location so all guests can make it or is it more important to do it closest to the "mom to be's" home town?
3. Theme:

This probably the funnest part of a baby shower! Picking the theme is so fun. Try to come up with a unique theme based on the "mom to be's"  interests. Consider these things:

  • Mom to Be's taste.
  • Gender of baby if known, if not, neutral baby themes. 
  • Consider the location, outdoors, indoors, restaurant, hall, your home.
Decorations will be the fun part of your theme. You can consider:



4. Food and Drink

You will have to figure out what kind of snacks and food will fit into your budget. Things to consider:

Another fun part of planning a baby shower is to pick out what type of games you want to play. Consider the guests that will be at your baby shower. What games seem fitting? How much time are you allotting to game playing? And don't forget to get some prizes for whoever wins the games!
